Hello silver my old friend, Hermès has come to talk with you again. For it’s first ever global digital campaign, the French label focuses on their iconic silvery jewellery collection, exploring the sound of well, silver.
Visual Artist the British design practice, executed an installation composed of 16 metallic turntables in which the new Hermès pieces were placed on while lasers scanned the jewellery to trigger a sound and propel the cog mechanisms. The sound they produce is influenced by the shape, volume, and density of the piece, as crafted by the hands of the Hermès craftsman at their ateliers in Paris.
It certainly doesn’t sound anything like Simon and Garfunkel, but it looks darn pretty, and highly covetable. Watch the final artistic performance directed by Caswell Coggins below.
