In June 2023, Bulgari unveiled its latest gem: the Bulgari Hotel Roma, a luxurious retreat nestled in the heart of the Eternal City. The opening of the Rome location is significant for the renowned and storied jewelry brand, which was founded in Rome nearly 140 years ago by Sotirio Bulgari. Let me tell you this: there is no better homecoming than this monumental hotel. Last year, we were invited by Bvlgari to preview the documentary they had made about the efforts and work that went into building this hotel. While that may sound a touch self-indulgent, the amount of work, care, and attention to detail that went into the brand’s new flagship hotel is no small feat, worthy of celebration.

Situated at 10 Piazza Augusto Imperatore in the Campo Marzio district, where shopping is abundant, the hotel occupies a prime location steeped in history. Located directly in front of the Mausoleum of Augustus, built in 28 BC, guests are treated to unparalleled views of this ancient monument. The building in which the hotel is located was designed in the 1930s by architect Vittorio Ballio Morpurgo and meticulously restored to blend classic elegance with modern luxury.

The Bulgari Hotel Roma boasts 114 rooms and suites, each thoughtfully designed to reflect the city’s rich heritage. The interiors feature a palette inspired by Rome’s vibrant hues, complemented by sumptuous materials, including fine marble and luxurious fabrics. This is where we pause to acknowledge that the bathrooms were exquisite, which is what dreams are made of. The rooms all feature spacious layouts with state-of-the-art amenities throughout, as well as panoramic views of Rome. These rooms are so comfortable and well equipped that you almost don’t want to leave.

Gastronomy takes center stage at the hotel, with several dining venues designed to satisfy discerning palates. For dinner, you will want to go to Il Ristorante – Niko Romito, helmed by the three-Michelin-starred chef. This restaurant offers a contemporary take on Italian cuisine, blending traditional Italian flavours and ingredients with innovative modern techniques. The crispy pork is wow good! The Bulgari Bar, situated on the top floor, just off Il Ristorante, offers a sophisticated and classy ambiance where you can savour signature cocktails while taking in the views of Rome’s skyline. Finally, we have Il Caffè on the ground floor. This café serves Roman specialties in a relaxed setting, making it a popular spot for both hotel guests and locals alike. Their breakfast is particularly excellent and plentiful.

For those seeking rejuvenation, the hotel’s spa is a serene sanctuary amidst the city’s endless movement. Inspired by the ancient Baths of Caracalla, the spa features a 65-foot (20-meter) indoor pool adorned with eight columns of stunning arabesque marble, creating a serene environment for relaxation. It’s vibes for real. Guests can also take it a step further with a whole range of treatments using premium products, ensuring a fully holistic wellness experience. Now that’s luxury.
