After the Joe Fresh show at Toronto Fashion Week on Wednesday night, I headed back to the tents on Thursday for Arthur Mendonça’s tenth anniversary show for the spring summer 2013 season. With the warm weather in full effect, I decided to ditch the coat and jump on what might very well be the last warm day of fall.
I thought I’d ride the brocade trend, that seems to be present in almost every show I’ve seen so far this week, with this altered vintage skirt I found many moons ago at 69 Vintage. Pairing it with my new plum wool Holt Renfrew hat and my comfortable New Kid Stealth booties, I went for a matchier look with my versatile silk blouse found at the Brooklyn Flea back earlier this year.
Accented with teal tights and belt from Joe Fresh, I tied in my favourite Deadly Ponies ‘Mr Mohawk Box’ into the look for a bit of texture from the oversized wool tassels. Jewels were at a minimum last night with a simple chain collar from Topshop, a pair of vintage Alfred Sung gold earrings, an etched silver bangle, and a short stack of watches and pearls on the other arm.
We decided to snap a few photos following the show at a well-lit film set we happened upon, a couple of blocks away from the tents. Take a look below.
