Premium luggage brand RIMOWA is set to open their North American factory doors to the public for the first time ever. Taking place on October 15th and 16th in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, as part of LVMH’s global Les Journées Particulières initiative, which will see 57 Maisons from the LVMH group opening to the public. The program is designed to show the public the quality craftsmanship that brands within the LVHM umbrella that makes each Maison so unique. For instance, the Canadian RIMOWA factory is the location with the technical expertise to produce both aluminum and polycarbonate suitcases.
Over the course of the weekend, RIMOWA will take guests through the handcrafted manufacturing process of each of its core collections. Apparently, this takes on average an hour and a half with 200 components and 90 steps involved in building one suitcase. During the first-hand experience, the brand promises to disclose some of its secrets and roll out some of its classic archive pieces from past collaborations (Off-White?).
