In a relatively short amount of time, Kendrick Lamar’s widely acclaimed album DAMN. has reached platinum certification from the RIAA – less than three weeks after its release.

This achievement should come as no surprise as DAMN. has been revered by pundits and casual alike, and has helped solidify Kendrick Lamar among rap’s current greats. It’s currently spending its third week atop the Billboard 200 and possesses the highest first-week sales of any album in 2017 so far. After charting every song on the album, the 14-track project also propelled Lamar into a unique class of artists.
