Late last spring the Sidewalk Hustle team took a trip to the adidas customization office in Amsterdam and spent some time in the miadidas sneaker lab. The goal was to parlay our knowledge of fashion and streetwear trends to create a capsule collection of shoes that reflected the unique taste of our readers. After some deep diving into the archives we created a five shoe capsule collection that’s available now on miadidas.ca.
The process to design a collection, no matter how big or smaller is daunting to say the least. If you’re not careful you can spend a lifetime cycling through the materials, fabrics, and sneaker silhouettes the sportswear brand has in their archives. Luckily we knew what we were in for and knew what we wanted so after pulling our lineup of instant classics silhouettes, we pulled fabrics and materials that spoke to us. Of course our inspiration comes from the unique multi-season style culture of Toronto and Canada as a whole, while infusing the shoes with some of the unique wants of larger global trends we’ve seen along our adventures across the world.
The first shoe in our exclusive custom pack is the thorwback-classic Gazelle. Making a resurgence in the sneaker world, the silhouette is a simple, multi-used sneaker that’s mandatory in everyone’s rotation. Utilizing only premium suedes, the shoes come in a pink/blue and a off-white and turquoise colourway. Perfect for late season sunny days and statement making party appearances.
Next up we took on the adidas’ quickly growing new favourite shoe the EQT. For this silhouette we worked our magic on 3 pairs, a statement making play on the classic Stan Smith colourway and two monochromatic Primeknit pairs.Perfect for low-key hangs or nights out on the town, all three are meant to perfectly compliment a life on the go!
Rounding out the collection is an all pink Superstar. Probably the most sexy shoe you will see all season, the superstar features white adidas branding and laser engraved HUSTLE on the outer heal. Oooouuu, so sexy!
