Opening night at Toronto Fashion Week started with Beaufille, but it was clear all the fashion babies came to see Kimberly-Newport Mimram’s prim collection for spring summer 2014.
Like many spring collections so far at other fashion weeks, the runway was at first flooded with models dressed in white, signifying the freshness of spring. White slowly cascaded into classic navy and white, then fully to navy which washed into a fresh sky blue, a few pops of lime and peach, and back to black for the last set and final gown.
Pops of dizzying zig zag, 60’s inspired daisy prints, and black and white blocking executed on shift dresses in the collection played up the vintage vibe set by the music.
Perhaps our favorite silhouettes of the collection were the pleated sky blue and navy collared dress, the lime green turtleneck dress, and the long flouncy pleated peach skirt.
