Early yesterday morning we hit up the new location of the Drake General Store at Yonge and Eglinton. Opening officially this Friday, the once Rosedale branch of the shop migrated north to the busier neck of Midtown.
We were fearful of being mobbed by mommies in yoga pants in the neighbouhood but delighted as usual by the curation of indie cool products behind the brown papered windows. What’s unique to the new location is their biggest ever selection of apparel including brands like Something Else, Penfield, Gabbi, Shared Apparel, COMUNE, and Hershel, as well as a few gorgeous dream catchers and framed art made by a local artists available while they last.
You’ll also find awesome standards like Mast Brothers Chocolate, Morris Kitchen Cocktail Syrup, stationary, and a well selected range of coffee table books and magazines. Personally we’ll be heading to midtown more often to check out the apparel, pick up one of those stunning dream catchers, and maybe order a SMEG fridge one day.
Take a gander inside the shop and go check it out for yourself starting Friday when they open their doors.
