Last night at Lee’s Palace Chicago’s Windish Agency showcased a solid line up of local and international artists. New Look, Speech Debelle, Neon Indian, Little Dragon, and Rich Aucoin pumped out tunes till the wee hours of the morning on the second night of Canadian Music Festival.
The surprisingly good local opener New Look, played a mellow set of electro tunes on their crazy elaborate gear (see photo above) with amazing vocals and key-tar, overall slightly reminiscent of The XX, while the second act, South London’s Speech Debelle, jammed out on top of her powerful live band made up of acoustic guitar, drums, and stand-up bass.
The Swedish headliners Little Dragon were a tad lackluster when compared to Brooklyn’s Neon Indian (the nights real focal act) who stole the show with their throbbing beats and psychedelic mixing, that really got the crowd moving.
