Sydney’s bro-sis duo Angus and Julia Stone played to a packed and pretentious crowd at the Opera House last Thursday night. Opening with folky ballads off the new album Down The Way and mixing it up throughout the set, they bantered back and forth regaling us with the stories their songs reference.
About mid-way through the otherwise mellow show, in true Aussie form, the crowd (or, rather, large group of Aussie dudes) called out “AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE, OY OY OY” repeatedly, which made Julia mumble something to them sweetly.
They played for just over an hour with beautiful sound that bordered on album quality, which is usually the case at this particular venue known for the best sound in Toronto.
