Last night we celebrated the launch of the TOMS for Target collection in Los Angeles beneath the twinkle lights at the Bookbindery. With hundreds of other media, friends, families and celebrities including Jessica Alba, Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland, and Jennifer Garner, in attendance, TOMS Founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie and the Target team welcomed everyone with quite a comprehensive shopping event to celebrate their truly incredible charitable partnership for the holiday season.
The industrial event space was transformed into a cheery holiday market with neatly decorated pockets and installations housing the limited edition apparel and home collection, as well as a DIY area, food and drink stations, bohemian lounges, and one heck of a hilarious slow motion video booth. Just like the collection, the launch event had something for everyone including a performance by Los Angeles folk rock band Dawes.
Both brands married perfectly within the space as we shopped the extensive collection of over fifty items which include apparel and shoes for men, women, and children, as well as a wide array of home products for all ages. The ‘One for One’ element of the collection was displayed on cute wooden signage, letting guests know what their purchase would bring to someone in need, whether it a blanket, a pair of shoes, or a week of meals. Across the entire collection, launching in stores and online on November 16th, there is the potential to provide over 11 million meals, blankets and shoes to those in need through partnerships with American and Canadian Red Cross, Feeding America, Food Banks Canada, and of course TOMS One for One shoe giver model.
Not only is the collection accessible, all priced under $50, it’s totally perfect for the holiday season with items you’ll want to give as well as receive; and if we can do that, and help someone in need, we all win. Our favourites from the collection include the leather and chambray slip ons, aztec printed crew neck sweaters, chambray button downs, both poncho styles, a super soft throw, stacking bracelets, zippered clutches, and a copper encased candle (to name only a few).
Mark your calendars for November 16th, because this coveted collection is bound to sell out! Flip through some photos from the event below.
