It’s been quite a year for new music and I wanted to share with you some of my favourites in the form of a numerical list. I wish I could have made this list our of 20, but I felt I should be decisive rather than longwinded. There was a tie for number one because I’m still looping these albums constantly at home and in iPod land, alternating accordingly.
I did also add a few honourable mentions for this year because there was no way I could leave them out of the list. To explain in greater detail, I gave The Pains of Being Pure At Heart album so much lovin’ this summer after I saw them live in NY, though I didn’t think the album was stellar enough to be part of the 10, and Lissy Trullie’s Self-Taught Learner is only an EP, so I’m hoping there will be more to come from her in 2010.
The Ra Ra Riot album Can You Tell album is a small but sweet few remixes of some tracks from last years amazing album The Rhumb Line, which is obviously why it’s not on the list, and Beach House’s new album Teen Dream sounds amazing so far, but isn’t due out till late January, so we’ll have to wait and see how it fairs for next years round up.
I’d love to know what you think of my list, so please feel free to comment accordingly below.
