San Fransisco’s multi-talented Mikal Cronin took to the shaded Blue Stage to perform his special brand of surfer-garage-indie-rock to a gathered assemblage of devote fans. Having released two solo albums and several singles, and being a member of the bands Okie Dokie, Epsilons, Party Fowl and Moonhearts, as well as an album with Ty Segall, Mikal has created a catalogue of songs that would make most people envious.
Jumping right into it with hair a-flinging and guitars a-shredding Mikal and accompanying band ripped through their mid-afternoon set like well seasoned pros. Not that this needs to be said, but if you don’t already know Mikal you should get familiar, as he is obviously here to stay and shape the music frontier of West-Coast rock with a nice tinge of that mid-90’s garage edge.
