Derrick Carter took over from an already hot stage after Todd Terje, filling the main stage amphitheatre with lots of house music enthusiasts ready to dance. He started off with a familiar a capella and just started to build from there to eventually drop his dope remix of Azealia Banks’ “212”.
Derrick truly is the definition of Chicago house and gave Detroit a lesson in mixing and technique. Derrick is the barometer against which all house DJs should be measured. Problem for those guys and girls is that the majority just don’t even measure up! It had been awhile since we last saw Derrick, but it reminded us what must-see DJ he is.
