In honour of the Godfather of Sportswear, Tristate Holdings Ltd, a Hong Kong-based company, has announced the launch of a new brand called Massimo Osti Studio. The new brand celebrates and expands on the innovative work of Italian garment engineer and fashion designer Massimo Osti. Osti, who founded apparel brands Stone Island & C.P. Company, was a visionary regarding advancements in technical garments. His designs were a mix of his innovations and design ideas he got from studying military clothing, workwear, and sportswear.
To celebrate the launch of Massimo Osti Studio, a brand new contemporary apparel brand that questions the paradigms of modern apparel, focusing on fabric research, functional shapes and innovative industrial processes, we were allowed to delve into the Osti archive during Mens Paris Fashion Week.
In addition to the new brand announcement, Massimo Osti Studio released a five-piece merchandising capsule collection available exclusively on massimoosti.com. Additional Massimo Osti Studio products will drop in monthly chapters, all released exclusively via the website. Each Chapter will centre around the exploratory storytelling process, starting from where he left off before passing.
Some of the material subjects explored in the upcoming collections is Alcantara®, an industrially produced non-woven fabric that combines aesthetic and functional sensuality. The garments are constructed using heat-sensitive mesh tape. Trama 3D, jacquard fabric produced in collaboration with Limonta | 1893. The construction has been engineered using an industrial technique similar to airbags, creating pockets and details directly in the loom. Tecnomesh, four-stretch multifilament nylon fabric woven on Raschel looms and digitally printed twice. Gore-Tex®, 3-layer tricot mesh fabric. The talismanic membrane, which retains its typical functional characteristics, integrates a light/dark surface. Fresco Wool Gum, developed in collaboration with Limonta | in 1893, is a contemporary reinterpretation of Tecnowool developed by Massimo Osti. Combed wool is presented in a refined version with a double resin coating.
Already, you can tell these pieces will be incredible and highly sought after. If you are a technical fabric or sportswear fan, watch massimoosti.com for upcoming drops.
