The always bold and loud Italian fashion house Versace is once again gearing up to make a statement in the sneaker game this summer. For the summer 2022 season, Versace is set to release their new “Odissea” sneaker, the first statement sneaker since the departure of rising star Salehe Bembury. Designed in-house by the Versace team, the shoe has a designer skateboard shoe vibe with the over-the-top flair you would expect from Versace and made its first appearance in the Pre-Fall 2022 lookbook and Fall/Winter 2022 collection film.
The new shoe has a throwback 90s skateboard, vibe but instead of durable canvas, these bad boys are comprised of a sleek leather upper with a multi-layer composition. The shoe has a rounded toe with a perforated toe box, a 3D rubber lace guard that features a massive (for a shoe) laser-cut “Medusa” head plaque. The back heel features an imprinted “Odissea” on a raised midsole with winged-back rests above a lugged outsole.
The Versace new “Odissea” sneaker will arrive on July 12th in several exclusive colourways including powder pink, black lacquer, white, ultramarine blue, metallic silver and caramel – with each having a solid monochromatic finish variation.
