One of the most anticipated acts of the second day at Pitchfork Music Festival, Solange took the stage right on time sporting her usual smile and patterns from head to toe. Her stage set up was mostly the same, except collaborator Dev Hynes had been replaced with yet another hip and talented gent with just as mad dance skills.
Starting off the set with the highly danceable “Don’t Let Me Down”, which she stomped around the stage in style wearing white stilettos dropping like it’s hot. Bangin’ tracks off her True EP like “Losing You,” “Some Things Never Seem To Fucking Work,” “Locked in Closets,” and “Lovers in the Parking Lot” really got the crowd going, while slower Slower jams “Looks Good With Trouble” and “Bad Girls” got the couples in the crowd moving closer.
Near the end of the set she even dropped a Dirty Projectors cover of “Stillness Is The Move” in which she finished on some super high notes. All in all an amazing set, and definitely one of the festival highlights.
