Definitely not an artist we anticipated seeing at Osheaga on Friday, but Joseph Arthur surprised us with his one man show. His folky talent was discovered by Peter Gabriel back in the mid-nineties and he has a Dylan-esque vibe to music and stage presence.
Incorporating painting on certain songs while he sang, he crafted a blank canvas hung behind him on an easel into a drippy red, black, and gold abstract piece of art. We’ve definitely never seen anyone do that before during a live show, so we’re glad we stopped by and gave him a chance on Friday. Check out the photos below.
