From the basement house parties of the arts-drenched town of Guelph comes a unique 10-handed mash-up of synths, drums, bass and guitar cleverly named Green Go. Green Go, a girl/boy-fronted band who is on the steady rise through the ranks of the Canadian music scene as they tear up sweaty, dirty house party-like show and intimate venues. With the release of their first full-length album Borders, a propulsive mash-up of electro-rock, post-punk, and funky grooves, with songs that range from the ecstatically joyous to positively libidinous, this album is the soundtrack to your best Saturday night.
But wait! There’s more!
To keep all us hungry and some what sweaty fans appeased the boys and girls of Green Go have also just announced the upcoming release of a brand new CD The Green Go Remix Project vol II, available as a free download on the interwebs as of April 1st, features the band’s dual-organic and electronic re-hashings of their friends’ bangers – Woodhands, Diamond Rings, Gregory Pepper, and Think About Life, as well as their own fuzzed-out remake of their own track “Watch Your Step,” which originally appeared on Borders.
Remix Project vol II is the follow-up to Remix Project vol I, released in February 09. Then, without a label to put out their finished debut, the band took to their home studio to tweak another fine set of friends and fellow Canadians – Born Ruffians, the D’Urbervilles, the Rural Alberta Advantage, Gentleman Reg, and Women. Remix Project Vol II is the result of a band with hordes more knowledge than first time around, and the subtle touch of producer/engineer Roger Leavens (the RAA, Woodhands, etc). The result is a much more polished, refined sound than the previous set, and one which promises to continue to expand the gospel of Green Go until their sophomore effort is ready to roll, sometime in the early moments of 2011.
It is looking like Green Go’s set to take the world on, and we couldn’t be happier!
