Psychedelic Los Angeles band Chicano Batman brought their tour in support of their newest record “Freedom is Free” to Toronto’s Velvet Underground last night.
Playing to a substantial crowd, the band proved to be a remarkably tight live unit, bolstered with members from opener 79.5 to help fill out their live sound. Lead vocalist Bardo Martinez jumped from guitar to the organ, and then to the lip of the stage with just the microphone. Despite being a weeknight, the band truly gave their all and impressed the crowd with their talents.
