ELLE US has just announced their pick for new editor-in-chief, ELLE veteran and Project Runway judge Nina Garcia.
Earlier this week former ELLE editor-in-chief Robbie Myers announced that she would be stepping down from her position, after 17 years heading up the iconic glossy. Garcia comes to ELLE from Marie Claire where she was the brand’s creative director. Prior to that Garcia spent 13 years working at ELLE. Although Garcia’s expertise leans more towards the visual and conceptual, there’s no doubt that she has the experience and talent to take on this role. Garcia hopes to continue to develop the magazine’s identity and presence in the industry taking up where Myers left off.
Garcia has said of the publication:
“As an original disruptor, ELLE has always been a leading force in the fashion space, it’s a fearless brand that embraces change and new ideas. It’s for independent, smart, and energetic women who love fashion and are hungry for discovery. I love that it embodies the qualities that are most relevant today: It’s democratic, innovative and inclusive.”
Garcia will officially begin as editor-in-chief on September 18. We can’t wait to see how the brand develops with her at the helm. Stay tuned!
