In honour of the 200th birthday of luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton’s founder, the Maison presents 200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries: The Exhibition. As the name would suggest, the exhibition features 200 “trunks” (but actually just big rectangles) designed by 200 of today’s most innovative “visionaries.” The visionaries range from artists, athletes, actors, designers, scientists, and architects. The exhibition features distinct and unique work from notable visionaries including Frank Gehry, Gloria Steinem, Marc Jacobs, Kim Jones, Nigo, and so many more. It’s work taking a look at the complete list over on the exhibition website, louis200.com, chances are there are a lot of names you will recognize and be thrilled to see.
The New York stop of the travelling exhibit launched on Friday, October 14th taking over the iconic Barneys New York building at 660 Madison Avenue, and is open to the public through to December 31st. In addition to reopening the Barneys, 200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries has also revived the legendary lunch spot Freds, known to be the it-spot for New Yorkers, for the full duration of the exhibition. The Louis team worked with the original team of Freds to create a special Freds x Louis original menu that guests can make reservations for after their visit to the exhibition, here.
