Not to long ago, we posted-up in our favourite secret cool-guy loft in New York’s Lower East Side, to spend some time hanging out rocking pieces from the new Puma x ALIFE collab collection. Since we had the opportunity to get our hands on the collection before it drops, we figured the best way to really get in the spirit of the exciting new collection was to hang out in the neighbourhood where the collaboration was born.
For those that’ don’t know, ALIFE was created in 1999 with the intention of always showcasing New York City’s downtown youth street culture, focusing on original art and creativity. ALIFE’s concept store, located in the LES, is a one of a kind boutique that stocks an incredibly cool and impressive collection of new and authentic product that helped to elevate street style to a whole new level.
This new collection manages to seamlessly pull together ALIFE’s creativity while staying true to PUMA’s heritage. Portraying that message through apparel, footwear and accessories, the collection tells the story of Downtown New York; an integral part of PUMA’s rich street wear history.
Playing it cool and keeping true to ourselves, we grabbed the “simple” black/red/grey colourway tracksuit with purple accents and the black/red crewneck sweater. The outfit was finished off with a vibrate pair of the new Puma Ignite running shoes, which aren’t from the PUMA x ALIFE collection but worked perfectly tying together the overall look. The mostly rich purple colour, and almost neon orange soles would have looked a little out-of-place with a pair of selvage denim and a button-down shirt, but with this outfit, it was mint.
Take a look at the whole collection here, and see how we held it down in pieces from their collection below. The entire Puma x ALIFE collection drops via premium global retailers this Saturday, February 14th. You going to cop anything?
