The English Riviera is a faux-tropical, swig of land on the SW coast of England. Bright colours, palm tree studded beaches, glamorous yachts, money, etc. If France gets the Mediterranean then you can be damn sure the Brits will make the most of their little slice of heaven on the English Channel. The place apparently had quite the effect on Metronomy, for they titled their excellent 2011 release after the region. The album is a collection of preppy rhythmic beats, slight electro hiccups, and catchy hooks that just makes you want to dance and sing along. Below is a rather excellent video featuring several songs recorded at Atlantic Recording Studio, as well as a couple of intimate interviews captured by BAEBLE, while the band was in New York.
