Saturday at Paris Fashion Week, or Japan Day, as some affectionately call it, started off with the Junya Watanabe show in the early morning, followed by the Noir Kei Ninomiya show. Entitled Dark Rose, the spring summer collection explored the colour of black through splashy shapes, shades and textures of red. The first model appeared on the pitch-black runway in a black and red dress covered in dimly lit filament bulbs and a gold horned helmet, with no music, just the sound of the garment’s textures swishing as she glided down the intimate runway.
