Beijing’s Modern Sky Festival took over the Rumsey Playfield in Central Park in New York City last weekend, armed with one of the more eclectic line ups we’ve ever seen. Saturday headliners Liars, with recently re-united and never not amazing The Blood Brothers were paired with Taiwanese song writer Zhang Xuan (Deserts Chang) and Beijing post punk group Re-TROS. A line up that diverse drew an equally diverse crowd, however everyone seemed to enjoy all the sets from the night. The crowd only thinning when the temperature dropped sharply during Liars headlining set.
While many of the bigger acts from the festival were playing on the second day, they had very stiff competition from a phenomenal set by The Blood Brothers, and a great performance by dark electronic weirdos Liars.
