We had the chance to pop into Queen Street’s latest and greatest addition, Room 29, located on the ground floor of the Burroughes Building. The shop first emerged last fall, functioning online carrying a few sought after brands such as Three Floor and has since widely expanded their offering into a full-blown pop up shop to include hard to find Aussie brands like Cameo, Alice McCall, and Finders Keepers, in addition to contemporary designers like Ek Thongprasert, Niels Peeraer, Fabitoria, and Karen Walker.
The well curated collection of selects from these brands are tucked away neatly in the front of the Burroughes Building’s ground floor shared space, but don’t let the Latin American music from the other shop fool you, these girls mean serious business! Owner Chenny Long is bubbly, delightful, and passionate about her shop, they day before the her official launch event. You need only quickly survey Room 29’s offerings and you’ll see how sophisticated her selections are. Hard to find silicone necklaces by Ek Thongprasert sit preciously at the centre of the room while racks of Alice McCall, Cameo, Keepsake, and Three Floor line the sides of the space. Long says she’ll continue to expand the brand roster to include more brands, even though shops range left us feeling a little overwhelmed, in a good way.
We’re really excited to have a shop like Room 29 in our neighbourhood so we can start shopping all the collections we’re used to drooling over online, in person!
