Happy Thursday indeed! We’re getting closer and closer, counting down the days till H&M’s most exciting designer collaboration with Alexander Wang hits stores in November, and though we’ve seen Rihanna sporting the collection already, us civilians, haven’t really been given a chance to see the collection materialize, until NOW!
Elle and Style.com have released a first look at the editorial and lookbook and we’re thrilled to be able to share it with you. It just screams Wang’s sporty modern tailoring modelled by Hanne Gaby Odiele, with a next level kind of futuristic vibe that mixes and matches his signature techniques in new ways using fabrics like neoprene, spandex, down, and cotton.
According to Style.com, Wang had the following to say about the collection:
“H&M has done a great job in the past with archive-based collaborations, but I wanted to create a collection where most of the pieces have been designed from scratch. There are only a couple of items that are updates from past designs. Rather than creating affordable versions of expensive items, I wanted to design true performance pieces that are within the natural price points of sportswear of H&M, so we were able to create the best version of these pieces, through our vocabulary.”
We’ve got our eye on that oversized hooded parka, the embossed pebbled sweatshirt, and that backpack so far and we can’t wait to see the rest of the 250-piece collection so we can start making our wish list for November 6th when the collection hits stores!
