Last month when we heard our local fav shop Augustina was taking their delicious fragrances a bit more online, we were more than thrilled a wider audience would be able to experience Woodlawn, Avondale, and Roxborough as we have here in Toronto since their launch back in 2006 adding to their already stunning array of jewelry and leather goods exclusive to the shop.
For those who are unaware of the exclusive private label fragrances, they were created by owner Cristina Burgess alongside Toronto-based fragrance designer Susanne Lang, inspired and named after the streets Cristina’s once-lived on in the city.
Lang was able to perfectly translate Cristina’s experiences and memories gathered over the years in each place she lived, blending them into each scent with ease. Avondale combines notes of jasmine and bergamot with elements of summer lilac, gardenia and peony, while Woodlawn is a tad more crisp and even with elements of citrus and fresh summer forest, and possibly the closest to home (we used to live very close) Roxborough is refined and relaxed, merging musks and spiciness for a more heady scent best worn in the fall and winter months.
Each fragrance comes in a 60ml eau de parfum, 120ml dry body oil, as well as a handy 7ml perfume roller perfect for travelling! Up until last month, this trio of fragrances was only available directly through Augustina, but in December of last year, they partnered with Anthropologie, taking the fragrances national!
