Vetements’ collaboration and installation at LA dry cleaner Maxfield brings together fashion, art and good, clean clothes.
The installation and pop-up shop features Vetements’ current collection but displayed in the setting of a dry cleaners complete with flimsy wire hangers and thin plastic garment bags. Limited edition pieces that can be purchased are available as well as select pieces from Vetements’ Paris showroom, but only until everything sells out.
They also filled the Maxfield windows with waste products from a clothing production plant in Korea. The excess clothes (which will be donated following the exhibit) are meant to force the shopper and viewer to question how much clothing we really need, and hopefully promote more thoughtful fashion production and practices.
