Dr. Martens has release a collection that takes a good look back at the year 1969, when the company first began making iconic boots worn by skinheads. The Spirit of ’69 collection references the influential subcultures the brand was involved in its earliest days, drawing attention, according to the press release “to authentic characters and non-conformist individuals whose style and attitude sums up early skinhead.”
The lookbook of course centres around these boots, which played a huge role in this skinhead culture and its evolution through the years, with an updated aesthetic that still seems classic set in black and white. Compliented by a video centring the #StandForSomething part of this campaign, it captures English Blues Rock band The Family Rain ruckusing in what we can only assume is their hometown of Bath, wearing Docs of course.
