We’ve been following Paris-based Canuck designer CALLA Haynes for what feels like years now and last night at LG Fashion Week we had the great pleasure of making her acquaintance. Delicate as her beautifully crafted designs, her allure was immediately apparent as she casually uttered her name while we shook hands. We were anything but casual when we put together who she was and simply had to run home to revamp our coverage of her fall winter 2011/2012 collection.
This time around we can barely see through the stars in our eyes for the healthy helping of new relaxed silhouettes and always dazzling prints in the collection. Inspired by “the life of an imaginary travelling artist who searches for beautiful landscapes with her two cats, Maude and Alice” and the mellow colours of Antarctica, we’re loving the stunning half printed Bordeaux wool coat pretty hard as well as the signature ‘Robe Gaine’ dress in a dreamy nude print.
