Zayn Malik shared what’s perhaps his most anticipated track from his debut album Mind of Mine. He mentioned “BeFoUr” during his FADER interview, inciting some backlash from One Direction fans who felt, rightly so, that this was a dig at the band’s last album as a five-piece, FOUR.
As far as beefs go, “BeFoUr” does a good job at remaining relatable to most people and is a bit of a jam. This track makes us want a Miguel collab or tour lineup even more. Lines like “I’m tired of pickin’ that bone” and “No strings for you to pull on” makes it clear Zayn is freeing himself of some burdens. In the process, he’s aligning himself with some pretty reputable. A few days ago, director Nabil (James Blake, Nicki Minaj, Foals) posted some photos of himself and Zayn. Since “Like I Would” is the singer’s next single, we’re hoping for some LAD antics in the music video.
