Xbox is celebrating 25 years with the new Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection, a release that feels bigger than just another limited-edition console. For a quarter century, Xbox has been one half of gaming’s defining rivalry, helping shape the modern console landscape alongside PlayStation. Like Sega and Nintendo before them, the competition has given players plenty to debate and even more to play.
We’re especially excited about this one. The original Xbox brings back plenty of memories of late nights spent playing Halo, and we’ve been cheering on the console ever since. Seeing those early design cues return in 2026 feels like a fitting way to mark the anniversary.
Leading the collection is the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition. Inspired by the original Xbox and its iconic OG Green colourway, the console introduces a translucent design to the Xbox Series X for the first time. It packs the same performance as the standard Series X, including 1 TB of storage, while paying tribute to the platform’s roots.
The signature “X” lights up in green as a nod to the original Xbox startup, while the Xbox 25th Anniversary logo and other subtle details pay tribute to longtime fans. Xbox has also hidden a few surprises throughout the design as a thank you to the community.
The matching Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition continues the throwback theme with translucent OG Green, the original ABXY colours, bumpers inspired by the black-and-white buttons from the original Duke controller, and a transparent back case and battery door that reveal the classic Xbox logo.
The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition and Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition arrive together in select markets this November as a limited edition collection. The controller will also be available separately, with pricing and preorder details to follow.
