What I Wore: Miami Beach Boardwalk

Last week we stole away from the bitter Toronto cold for a few days to sunny Miami Beach. After one of the coldest months of the year, let me tell you, humid Miami was a rather preferable change of pace. While I almost always have a bit of trouble dressing out of season, since I’m used to layering up cashmere and wool, it took me a few days to finally warm up to summer dressing again.

I got excited packing all my fun new spring garments I haven’t yet been able to wear, since it’s been so cold. (And bright pink lipstick; dear god it felt good to get that on my lips again!) Firstly, this absolutely gorgeous Smythe Lab Coat in Tribal Weave which is the perfect mid season coat you can wear right into summer on cooler nights. And secondly my Kit & Ace Atal tee-shirt which i’ve been layering into my winter wardrobe ever since the day I got it and also doubled as a quick go-to tank to rock to the beach since it’s sleepless. You’re going to hear at lot more from me about Kit & Ace very soon.

I’m also wearing Topshop’s new Jamie jeans which are ripped at the knees (and thus frost bite inducing at home). They’re high waisted with just the slightest hint of stretch that makes them super comfy; sadly since I got them a few weeks back, on cold days I’ve had to stop myself from wearing them. I accessorized my look with some a simple fimo necklace I bought this time last year in Australia, a new pair of Wayfarers from TOMS, my Deadly Ponies Mr Cub Fur bag, my Daniel Wellington watch and a pair of blue suede heels.

This may not be the most quintessential way to dress in Miami, but at least I brought back some milder temperatures to Toronto, eh?!
