Coming into Chicago it was juts as muggy and humid as Toronto, so I knew I had to go for the most breezy outfit, not only to avoid bad tan lines, but to stay cool with all the running around we did at the festival.
On the first day, I wore a selection of vintage items, my New Kid patent leather red loafers, and my Deadly Ponies Mr Bone Mailman bag, which turned out to be a really bad call in the crazy heat. Check out my outfit from day one, featured on Saks and H&M’s instagram channels below.
On the second day I decided to rock my breezy new boho Tallow for Free People Key Largo Tie Dye summer dress to allow for lots of beer drinking and taco gorging. I find it hard to resist rocking my usual favourite Deadly Ponies Mr. Mohawk Box bag every day, and I thought it paired nicely with the double braid and yellow Miista shoes. I layered on my accessories trickling down from my new Karen Walker Limited Edition Critter sunnies, into a stack of vintage necklaces, a vintage Hermes Bangle, my Daniel Wellington watch, Banana Republic ivory bracelet, and a couple of other friendship bands. In the beauty department I chose to try out my new irresistible new Tom Ford Violet Fatale lipstick, which in the beautiful packaging looked purple, but actually applied more like a deep violet berry tone.
Lipstick is an often overlooked element of style, especially at music festivals, it can really make the outfit have an extra pop, just as this delicious Tom Ford one did. My only quam with this particular shade, unlike other Tom Ford lipstick colours I own, it seemed to bleed slightly, so best to use a lip liner to avoid that next time around, though it did stay on really well and is a super rad colour.
