Weirdo-pop silly geniuses and Toronto’s latest exports in dopeness, Weaves, have been stirring up sounds and creating a kerfuffle for a minute, and today their debut self-titled much-anticipated album finally drops. With this also comes the release of their music video for “Tick,” a track they first dropped last summer.  Directed by Benjamin Dabu, the video stars comedian Chris Locke as the band submerge him into their irresistible world. As the band’s guitarist, Morgan Waters (who also helped edit the video) explains…

“The video is about the incessant ticking of the clock, nagging at you to realize your dreams, and the gentle reminder that sometimes dreams should remain fantasy. Music makes you feel young. But what happens when you’re suddenly the old guy at a party trying to get the roach going? Our friend, and brilliant comedian Chris Locke, plays a man who stares into the void, hears our song and experiences a midlife crisis.”

Weaves’ debut record is out now out on Kanine, Buzz Records, and Memphis Industries. Check out the album art & track list below + Get a hot & fresh copy of your own here or at your local record store.
