Dreamville and HBO have decided to share the footage of their special, which shares the same name as J. Cole’s album, titled 4 Your Eyez Only.
Clocking in at almost 50 minutes long, the powerful work surprisingly only shows Cole as a peripheral character. It principally highlights the struggles of regular people from different black communities (Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Ferguson, Missouri; Jonesboro, Arizona and J. Cole’s hometown of Fayetteville, N.C). There is a reoccurring theme of strength and perseverance from these disenfranchised individuals. Clips of the Dreamville artist performing songs off the album are also laced inbetween.
