WANT PASSPORT Toronto City Airport Shop

Earlier this week we travelled down to Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto, but instead of boarding a plane, we had the pleasure of getting an up close and personal look inside the swanky new WANT PASSPORT shop, which opened back at the end of September of this year.

Stocking only the very finest travel goods, sundries, magazines and books, apparel, a ton of giftable essentials, and exclusive products, WANT PASSPORT aims and excels at elevating the travel and retail experience. From the moment we walked through their, our whole perception of airport retail became glamorized again. No longer will you have to settle for a sub-par shopping while waiting to board your flight, but be warned, you’ll want to hold onto your wallets too, because every single item they stock is a must-have.

Designed by Maria Rosa di Ioia, the highly curated shop in the arrivals area of the airport is complimented by two kiosks in each departures lounge, and was conceived by WANT Les Essentials de la Vie and The WANT Apothecary.

From essentials one often forgets to pack like Marvis toothpaste, Yukami toothbrushes (which are exclusive to the shop), skincare products from Aesop and Ursa Major, Mason Pearson Combs, Falke socks and leggings, and even Woolite, the shop brings a refined sensibly to even the most basic travel essentials.

You’ll find a large assortment of accessories from WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie, like basic roll-able, reversible travel totes to weekender bags, briefcases, credit card cases, and luggage tags constructed chicly in French, Japanese and Italian calf and goatskin, organic cotton, and a beautiful Italian wax coated cotton canvas.

They also stock a number of lovely gift items like Liberty London notebooks, ittala Ultima Glassware, Persol Sunglasses, Flouzen bow ties, Leica Cameras, and Uniform Wares watches, among others. In addition they are the exclusive retailer in Canada of Louisa Parris scarves, Ordinary Purpose clocks, and Parisan record label Kitsuné Music’s ever popular compilations and albums.

For holiday they’re offering gift bundles of a foldable WANT tote, along with The New York Times 36 Hours Books, and the Travel Almanac, as well as a gift pack of two Kitsuné CD’s and a pair of Aiaiai-Pipe Earphones, complimented by silk-screened gift wrap by Esme Winter and ribbon by Hay.

WANT PASSPORT provides a sophisticated shopping experience in a place where you least expect it, bringing together an iconic roster of products and brands from around the world. We highly recommend you take a moment to check out WANT PASSPORT on you next visit to the Toronto City Airport, but just in case you don’t have any immediate travel plans, take a look at our photos of the shop below.
