The Met Gala is one of the most important fashion events of the year, and Virgil Abloh used the occasion to his full advantage last night. The creative director, designer, architect and DJ stepped onto the red carpet wearing what looks to be the forthcoming collaborative shoe between Jordan Brand and Abloh’s OFF-WHITE imprint.
Neither brand has confirmed the collaboration, but we can deduce from leaked photos that the design will be a deconstructed riff on the red and white “Chicago” colourway—perhaps a nod to Abloh’s hometown. These photos also clearly show bright green shoelaces, with the text “SHOELACES” on them just for good measure.
Details are extremely scarce about the release at this point, but we’ll be sure to keep our eyes and ears open for when these insane sneakers will drop.
