Jordan Brand and the Virgil Abloh Archive have officially unveiled the Air Jordan 1 High OG x V.A.A., marking the first global product release drawn from the late Virgil Abloh’s extensive archive of more than 20,000 objects.
The release continues the influential partnership between Nike and Abloh, which began in 2017 and reshaped the intersection of streetwear and luxury. Rooted in his design philosophy of “making the invisible visible,” the new iteration of the Air Jordan 1 reimagines the classic silhouette through an open, deconstructed lens.
Signature Abloh details carry through the design, including an exposed tongue and the instantly recognizable orange tab on the Swoosh. The sneaker also highlights its internal construction, with bold “AIR” lettering stamped across the midsole to draw attention to the cushioning unit, an intentional nod to Abloh’s ongoing interest in revealing the mechanics behind iconic products.
To mark the launch, the Virgil Abloh Archive will host a series of global activations throughout March under its V.A.A.™ World’s Fair banner. Events are set to take place in key cities tied to Abloh’s life and legacy, including Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, London, Paris, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. The first event will take place in Los Angeles, where the sneaker will be made available to attendees and local residents through a dedicated raffle system.
In addition, the Archive is launching a Toolkit initiative aimed at supporting emerging creatives, with early participants receiving exclusive access to the release.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG x V.A.A. is set to launch globally on April 3, 2026, through Nike and select retailers, continuing to build on Abloh’s lasting impact across design, fashion, and culture.
