Last month famed video/commercial director Jake Davis’s premiered his Drake Test Shots video at the SoHo Apple Store. The test shot is from a filming session for a TV advertising campaign for Drizzy’s critically acclaimed debut album Thank Me Later. In the video Drake is dressed in a black hood and camo pants, laughing as he rocks out on the air drums. The great things about test shots, whether it be from Warhol to Davis is that they capture the true essence of the person. No acting, just interacting and personality. It really shows the intricate layers of personality in our icons. Give the video a look and enjoy! Oh and yes, that is Portishead’s “Biscuit” playing in the background. Awesome!
