Toronto dark-gaze act Vallens, aka shoegazey dream-girl Robyn Phillips, released her debut record Consent earlier this summer. She’s already shared a haunting video for “Tennessee Haze” and now she’s released a video for “Devour,” a stunning track about dealing with pain when you loose a loved one as Phillips explained to us back when the song was first released. Directed by Benjamin Portas, the video focuses on an older woman. As Phillips told Interview Magazine

“There was a lot of thought on if the video would seem like parody of beauty, but we hoped that it can be viewed as a different expression of beauty…Not just about age, but with the concept of the performance anxiety of just being.”

Consent, the debut album by Vallens is out now on Hand Drawn Dracula. Grab a copy here.
