Uma Wang hit reset today in Paris, stepping away from the sharp structure of seasons past in favor of something softer and more instinctual. Staged at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, the collection was a direct reaction to the previous, bows loose and untied, waists uncinched, and silhouettes that moved with the body rather than against it. Shoulders eased up, hips deflated — everything twisted, draped, and flowed with deliberate nonchalance.
Inspired by the veiled marble statues of Palazzo Te in Mantua, Italy, the collection played with contrast. Tailoring met fluidity, stiffness gave way to slouch, and aged-stone tones were punctuated by rhythmic cravatteria prints. It felt like watching structure unravel — gracefully, confidently — in real time. A quiet rebellion wrapped in soft folds and sharp instincts.
