As the sun set slowly over the last day of Pitchfork Music Festival we headed over to catch Toro Y Moi’s set of sunny chill wave. After playing the first tune Chaz Bundick joked to the audience, who was partially made up of die hard R. Kelly fans waiting out the day of sets to stake out a spot, introducing his guitarist and bassist as R and Kelly. True fans screamed out during the set at Chaz, quoting his old twitter handle @Chaz2Sexy which has recently changed to just @ToroYmoi.
Playing hits from one of our top albums of 2012, Underneath The Pines like “New Beat,” “How I Know,” and the intoxicating “Still Sound”, as well as newer hits like “So Many Details” and “Say That,” the crowd danced to the funky tunes and we slowly wandered over towards the green stage where MIA was playing next, still well within ear shot of his set.
