It may be February in New York, but Todd Snyder made it feel like a warm day in Paris with his Fall/Winter 2025 collection runway show. The American menswear MVP kicked off the fashion week frenzy by taking over the Academy Mansion on New York’s Upper East Side, a grand 1920s edifice transformed into a Parisian-inspired dreamscape. Drawing inspiration for the collection from the style of 1980s Saint-Germain, Snyder crafted a collection that blended American sportswear with French sophistication, all the while working with a subtle military influence.
The intimate show—attended by Jenna Lyons and a now-viral fascinated Brendan Fraser —took place across three elegant rooms, each with its own carefully curated ambiance. DJ Jivan Calderone set the tone, reinforcing the collection’s effortless cool.

Snyder’s vision paid homage to the archetypal figures of the Left Bank: Sorbonne undergrads, café intellectuals, jazz musicians, and tradesmen frequenting the tabac. His designs reflected these influences without delving too deeply into nostalgia, modernizing them with rich textures and relaxed tailoring. Luxurious velvets, silks, and cashmere dominated the collection, presented in a colour palette of deep emerald, aubergine, petrol blue, and earthy browns. The light pink was a definite stand-out for us. Key pieces included nubby wool overcoats, oversized suit jackets, double-pleated trousers, mohair sweaters, and even baggy Bermuda-style shorts.
Monochromatic military-inspired looks like moss green and mauve suits reinforced Snyder’s nod to uniformed elegance. He also championed the return of crepe fabric, further underscoring his commitment to refined craftsmanship. With 65 looks in total, the collection was as expansive as it was intentional. With its fusion of eras and influences, his Fall/Winter 2025 offering reaffirmed his ability to capture timeless style with a modern twist.
