The newest single from The Wooden Sky feels anything but comfortable. In a constant search for peace, “Swimming In Strange Waters” is driven by a massive amount of lashing drum patterns, swirling guitars and hypnotic organ keys. The 5-minute ballad journeys through many different approaches and finally builds to an all-out thrash of instrumentation lead by Gavin Gardiner’s vocals.
Debuting yesterday on NPR, the new material marks the release of the local Toronto rock band’s fifth album expected to release later this year.
