Leave it to The Drake General Store to get us excited for the end of summer and back to school time, (even though we aren’t even heading back to school) in their fall campaign called Cool Class, shot in-house by Steven Beckly.
It’s a little bit frosh week and a little bit grade school, and as always in The Drake General Store’s signature way, they’ve managed to balance both a bespoke collegiate image with that quirky contemporary aesthetic we’ve come to know in the details. The back to school theme also continues right down to their hand-painted window displays by Andrew Kidder, who’s repeated the phrase “I will not turn detention into the Breakfast Club” over and over in that detention lines style.
We had the pleasure of previewing much of the collection last month and love how they’ve presented everything in this campaign so perfectly. Expertly styled and well-selected featuring the ever popular North Star sweatshirts, Shared Backpacks, Levi’s jeans, and a few essential supplies like hand silkscreens journals, letter openers, Nerds, Pop Rocks, Malin + Goetz toiletries, Baggu leather pouches and Hangover Tea.
Take a look at the full photo story below and start packing those backpacks and lunches! Don’t you, forget about me.
