The Council of Fashion Designers of America has just announced an official initiative in support of Planned Parenthood.
Exclusively designed “Fashion stands with Planned Parenthood” buttons will be distributed throughout New York Fashion Week in hopes of raising awareness about the importance of Planned Parenthood and the work they do. CFDA member Tracy Reese leads the initiative with the support of Proenza Schouler, Diane von Furstenberg, Prabal Gurung, Tory Burch, Zac Posen and Carolina Herrera.
Speaking to Vogue, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Cecile Richards has said:
“We are truly thrilled by the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s show of support for Planned Parenthood at New York Fashion Week.”
Those who receive buttons are encouraged to share a photo on social media with the hashtag #IStandwithPP. The initiative is meant to show solidarity with Planned Parenthood and will also distribute cards that share info about how to get involved and the services Planned Parenthood offers.
