Though fashion month may seem like a distant memory, we’re still dreaming about the outfits we saw come down the fall 2017 runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris.
The shows, of course, showcased a wide range of looks — from Chanel space-inspired collection to Gucci’s maximalism aesthetic. But naturally, we were drawn to the streetwear ensembles, rather than those worthy of the red carpet, and can’t wait to wear them come September.
Below, see the 10 coolest looks from the fall 2017 runways during fashion month.
1. Alexander Wang
Alexander Wang’s fall 2017 collection was (unsurprisingly) filled with cool girl looks — from slouchy tees and tanks to silk slips with unexpected cutouts. But one of our fave looks had to be this menswear-esque plaid overcoat worn over top of a black denim jacket (buttoned up, of course) and paired with a chain-strap bag.
2. Saint Laurent
The ultimate party dress, this glittery Saint Laurent number was a standout among the 106 (!!!) looks showcased. The plunging neckline adds a touch of sexiness while the exaggerated, structural sparkly shoulders make it anything but basic.
3. Sacai
If you’re sick of pyjama dressing, try this take on the trend. Sacai designer Chitose Abe reworked the traditional satin PJs with this look, adorning it with floral embellishments and lots and lots of zippers. Whether you choose to leave them undone or not is up to you — and that’s the beauty of the entire collection: it’s meant to be worn how a person wants, when she wants, as Abe told Vogue Runway.
4. Fenty by Rihanna
Imagine if Rihanna completely redesigned your school uniform, making it badass and totally inappropriate (just the way we wanted it, TBH). Call it a case of the good (school) girls (and boys) gone bad — but the entire Fenty x Rihanna collection was filled with a reimagined high school dress code — all while keeping with the sporty theme (even for the goth kids). We’re particularly drawn to this vibrant orange puffer hoodie paired over jersey-style top with a preppy collar.
5. Versus Versace
There were plenty of bold looks at Versus Versace’s fall 2017 show, but the standout was this chainmail minidress with the pink and black furry ultra-cropped top. And even though our disdain for chokers lives on, we’re willing to make an exception for this look.
